How we saved an Ilford restaurant owner £4,300
Client I owns a restaurant on Ilford Lane, running mainly on cash and card with a small team. Their bookkeeping was a carrier bag of receipts handed over each January, VAT was filed late more than once, and there was no separation between business and personal spending.
Outcome: We set up proper cloud bookkeeping with a bank feed, separated the accounts, brought the VAT filings current and appealed the late-filing penalties. Penalties reduced, VAT brought under control, and around £4,300 of tax saved through expenses that had never been claimed.
