How we sorted a Stratford contractor's IR35 position
Client S is an IT contractor based near the Stratford regeneration zone, working through a limited company on rolling contracts with large employers. They were uncertain about their IR35 status, had been paying themselves inefficiently, and were holding cash in the company with no plan for it.
Outcome: We reviewed the contracts and working practices, documented the outside-IR35 position properly, optimised the salary and dividend mix, and set up an employer pension contribution to use the retained cash tax-efficiently. Around £5,200 a year saved and a defensible status position on file.
