How we claimed £12,600 in capital allowances for a Dunstable logistics firm
Client K runs a distribution and logistics business from a Dunstable unit on the M1 corridor, with a fleet of vans, racking and warehouse equipment. The Ltd company had invested in vehicles and the warehouse fit-out, but the previous bookkeeper had simply expensed routine costs and hadn't identified the substantial capital allowances available.
We reviewed the capital expenditure. The commercial vehicles, racking, forklifts and IT qualified for capital allowances — with the Annual Investment Allowance and, for qualifying new plant, full expensing for companies. We claimed the allowances across the open periods, significantly reducing Corporation Tax, and reviewed the fleet running costs and driver payroll for further efficiency.
