How we claimed £13,400 in capital allowances for a Rainham logistics business
Client K runs a haulage and logistics business from a Rainham depot, with a fleet of vans and a couple of HGVs plus warehouse equipment. The Ltd company had invested in vehicles and racking, but the previous bookkeeper had simply expensed routine costs and hadn't identified the substantial capital allowances available on the fleet and equipment.
We reviewed the capital expenditure. The commercial vehicles, racking, forklift and warehouse equipment qualified for capital allowances, with the Annual Investment Allowance and, for qualifying new vehicles and plant, full expensing for companies. We claimed the allowances across the open periods, significantly reducing Corporation Tax, and reviewed the fleet running costs and driver payroll for further efficiency.
