How we got a Seven Kings private-hire driver £3,900 back and onto the right footing
Client M is a Seven Kings private-hire driver working through a ride app, who'd been filing basic returns without claiming the full range of vehicle and business costs, and was unsure whether to use the mileage method or actual costs for his vehicle.
We compared the two vehicle methods for his mileage and vehicle value and found actual costs (including capital allowances on the car) gave a better result given his high annual mileage and recent vehicle purchase. We claimed fuel, insurance, servicing, MOT, the business proportion of finance and capital allowances, ULEZ, the app's commission, his PCO licence and vehicle licensing, phone and cleaning, and re-filed the open year.
